Journal History

In 2013, the CardioProgress Foundation established the journal with the aim of promoting international sharing of advanced clinical experience, scientific knowledge, research data, and education in cardiology, as well as in the primary and secondary prevention of chronic non-communicable diseases. The journal was intended to make a significant contribution to communication among cardiology specialists from different countries. Therefore, it was launched simultaneously in two language versions — English and Russian.
From 2013 to September 2020, the journal was led by its Editor-in-Chief, Academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Professor Rafael G. Oganov. Since 2021, the Editor-in-Chief has been Professor Mamedov M.N., MD, PhD.
Over its 12-year history, the journal’s editorial board has undergone partial updates in 2021 and 2025. Currently, the editorial board includes 17 experts from 14 countries across both near and far abroad.
